That is all.
No, but seriously. I know the word “transvestite” when used in the wrong context can potentially be insulting, but if the person doesn’t actually know any better, don’t flip your shit at them. I had never even heard of the phrase “transgendered” until this past year. Besides, transvestites actually do exist. For both genders, believe it or not! Except that when they’re girls, it’s—shock and awe!—not frowned upon any more! How many girls do you see walking around every day in T-shirts, jeans, sweatpants, hoodies…? And nobody even blinks at it any more, because tomboy is a-okay. But if it’s “male tomboy”, as the wonderful man pictured above (Eddie Izzard, for those who don’t know) so cleverly puts it, sometimes both transgendered and cisgendered people seem to be equally prone to doing acrobatic fucking pirouettes off the handle.
It’s okay to be a man and feel as though you ought to be a woman.
It’s okay to be a man and just want to dress in women’s clothing.
It’s not insulting to either party. Just let people wear what they want to wear and be who they want to be, and if you don’t like it, well, it’s not your body, is it? So disagree if you want, but leave the poor people alone.
